Job Description:
Utilities Superintendent
Location: Charleston SC metro
Shift: M-F 8-5pm
Compensation: 90k + bonuses twice per year (June and December),
prorated in the first year of employment

Travel: 30 mile radius to different job sites
Position Description:
The Utilities Superintendent will be responsible for managing crews
performing functions of the utility area with minimal supervision.
This position will report directly to utility field managers.
Responsibilities:
Complete capability to install and manage crews inclusive of all
utility needs.
Required to perform job requirements with little supervision.
General housekeeping and maintenance checks of equipment including
reporting usage/utilization hours on a daily basis or as directed
by supervisor.
Ability to produce and approve daily logs in company used software
(Track) with crew's time, tasks, production, and quantify materials
delivered on site.
Coordinates and communicates trucking resource needs with trucking
management.
Keep company work site clean and orderly, informing management of
any safety concerns.
Ability to understand and adjust methods to meet budget and
schedule requirements provided by project management.
Ability to create and complete punch lists required to complete
job; includes video reviews and testing.
Responsible for meeting/exceeding equipment utilization goals
Proficient in identifying critical areas in a proactive manner with
capability to adjust means and methods accordingly.
Personnel Management through effective communication.
Ability to effectively communicate with all types of individuals
involved in construction projects.
Ability to develop coworkers/subordinates of all levels encompassed
in the utility area.
Capable of interpreting and gather information from specifications,
plan views, and details involved with various types of construction
plans. Including, not limited to commercial, DOT, and
residential.
Ability to perform accurate take offs for utility work.
Ability to identify defects of work per videos.
Ability to design/set grades to accomplish goals.
Ability to account for daily job site actions.
Understanding of all areas involved in projects, i.e. utilities,
asphalt, surveying, concrete, and etc. with the capability for
quality control and scheduling.
Ensures project is constructed at highest quality and free from
error.
Ability to manage subcontractors, with same expectations as Company
crew.
Must be able to calculate quantities/yield for all job site
materials.
Read and interpret a project schedule.
Demonstrates a proactive standard in regard to management of
project, personnel, and equipment.
Education/Experience:
At least five years' experience at utility level foreman.
High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up
to 40 pounds of force regularly to move/lift objects.
Flexible availability to include work hours needed to meet
schedule: including nights, and weekends.
Ability to effectively communicate with all types of individuals
involved in construction projects.
Ability to account for daily job site actions.
Knowledge of and experience reading, understanding, and
implementing drawings.
Basic mathematical skills are required.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to properly establish bench marks
and grades.
Must have communication skills to lead craftspeople in labor,
equipment operation and other duties required by the job.
Thorough knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and
supplies used in heavy construction work.
Based on duties, may be required to obtain DOT medical
certification.
Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain
throughout term of employment.
Must meet company's employment standards with regards to background
checks.
Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of
time
Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather
conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be
exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
Valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by
complying with standards established by company policy.
