Job Description SummaryThe Clinical Practice Nurse Expert I (CPNE I) reports to the Unit Manager. In collaboration with the Unit Manager, the CPNE I is responsible for clinical practice on their respected unit(s). The CPNE I functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary, unit based team to provide nursing expertise for a defined microsystem. This position assists in developing quality care initiatives to improve patient outcomes and patient safety. Two years of clinical experience in area of expertise required. Successful completion of RN III Clinical Ladder advancement within 2 years in position required. Excellent collaboration and consultation skills required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills required. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. Familiar with quality improvement methodology. Advanced certification in a specialized field preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is requiredAdditional Job DescriptionPhysical Requirements: -Ability to perform job functions while standing. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
